Gold crosses Rs358,000 per tola mark in Pakistan

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan rose again on Saturday, following a similar upward trend in the international market.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold increased by Rs1,100 per tola, reaching Rs358,100. Meanwhile, the price of 10 grams of gold went up by Rs944 to settle at Rs307,013.
This marks a continued surge, as gold had already gained Rs2,300 per tola on Friday, closing at Rs357,000. The 10-gram price on that day had climbed by Rs1,971 to Rs306,069.
The price of 22-karat gold also rose, reaching Rs280,573 per 10 grams.
Internationally, gold gained $11 per ounce on Saturday, trading at $3,356 with a $20 premium, as per APGJSA.
Silver prices also saw an increase. The price per tola jumped by Rs85 to reach Rs4,022.
PSX ends week green
On the stock market front, the Pakistan Stock Exchange’s benchmark KSE-100 Index ended Friday with a gain of 517.42 points, closing at 134,299.76.
The index remained positive throughout the day, hitting an intraday high of 134,931.96 and a low of 134,130.40. Trading volume stood at 290.06 million shares.
