KARACHI: Gold prices continued their unprecedented rise both locally and internationally on Saturday, with significant gains recorded across the markets.

In Pakistan, the price of gold reached an all-time high of Rs325,000 per tola, marking a one-day increase of Rs1,620, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

The price of 10-gram gold also rose sharply, climbing by Rs1,389 to stand at Rs278,635.

On the global stage, gold prices followed a similar trend. The APGJSA reported that the international price reached $3,084 per ounce, including a premium of $20, reflecting a $10 rise in a single day.

The surge in gold prices comes after a significant jump on Friday when the per tola rate in Pakistan rose by Rs2,380, settling at Rs323,380—a record at the time.

In contrast, silver prices in the country saw a slight decline, falling by Rs30 to Rs3,580 per tola.

The ongoing fluctuations in precious metals’ prices continue to capture the attention of investors and markets, with gold maintaining its status as a safe-haven asset amid global economic uncertainties.
