Pakistan Customs seizes illegal cigarettes worth Rs15.6 million

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Customs seized illegal cigarettes worth Rs15.6 million while taking action against smuggled, non-duty-paid, and illegal cigarettes.
According to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Pakistan Customs has formed special teams for anti-smuggling operations against foreign cigarettes being smuggled into the country.
During its recent operations, Pakistan Customs seized 8,157,000 cigarettes with a total value of Rs15.6 million between October 30 and November 5, 2023.
Besides, anti-smuggling formations, including mobile squads deployed at various collectorates and airports, have been instructed to keep a close watch on the movement of illegal cigarettes across the country.
