WEB DESK: In a bid to address concerns raised by K-Electric regarding delayed consumer bill payments collected via the post office, the Finance Minister has pledged a swift resolution to the issue.
A press release issued today detailed a meeting held at the Finance Division, where K-Electric’s CEO Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi, CFO Muhammad Aamir Ghaziani, and Chief Regulatory Affairs Officer Muhammad Imran Qureshi met with the Finance Minister.
The K-Electric delegation highlighted that a previous agreement with the government had resolved several challenges, enabling the company to actively pursue new generation projects aimed at enhancing its electricity mix.
The Finance Minister urged K-Electric to prioritise improving service delivery in Karachi and to expedite the addition of cheaper generation capacity. This, he emphasised, would help reduce the overall cost of electricity for consumers.
The meeting underscored the government’s commitment to supporting K-Electric’s efforts in modernising its infrastructure and ensuring a more efficient power supply to Karachi’s residents.
