LAHORE: Pakistan’s ride-hailing scene is on the verge of a green revolution, thanks to a partnership between inDrive and Yousuf Dewan Companies (YDC).
The two companies have teamed up to introduce electric vehicles (EVs) into Pakistan’s transportation ecosystem, starting with a focus on four-wheel EVs in major cities like Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. This move aims to pave the way for sustainable mobility and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
The collaboration brings Honri electric vehicles into the spotlight, offering passengers a chance to experience eco-friendly travel. To kickstart this initiative, inDrive and YDC have launched a special campaign during the holy month of Ramazan, providing free rides in Honri EVs.
This timely campaign not only marks the beginning of their partnership but also offers commuters a fresh, environmentally conscious way to travel during Ramazan.
This partnership is a significant step forward in Pakistan’s growing EV landscape. It signals a shift toward cleaner energy in the ride-hailing industry while partnering with Honri, the country’s first manufacturer of four-wheel electric vehicles.
Both inDrive and YDC are leading the charge for green mobility by integrating EVs into ride-hailing, making sustainable transportation more accessible to everyday commuters.
But the journey doesn’t stop after Ramazan. Looking ahead, the initiative plans to expand, introducing rental options for drivers through fleet partners. This will make it easier for more drivers to access electric vehicles, reduce operational costs, and increase their earnings, all while contributing to a greener urban environment.
Muhammad Awais, Country Lead of inDrive Pakistan, underlined the company’s dedication to driving positive change. “At inDrive, we are committed to offering innovative and sustainable mobility solutions. This campaign allows passengers to experience EV technology firsthand while supporting Pakistan’s shift toward a cleaner future,” he said.
