Interbank closing: PKR falls by 10.72 paisa against USD

WEB DESK: In Tuesday’s interbank market, the Pakistani rupee (PKR) experienced a slight depreciation of 10.72 paisa against the US dollar (USD). The rupee closed the session at PKR 278.41 per USD, down from the previous day’s closing rate of PKR 278.30 per USD.
Throughout the day, the rupee traded within a range, hitting an intraday high of PKR 278.65 and a low of PKR 278.45.
In the open market, exchange companies listed the dollar at PKR 278.50 for buying and PKR 280.00 for selling.
Against other major currencies, the rupee showed varied performance:

British Pound: The rupee gained 1.46 paisa, closing at PKR 359.63, slightly better than the previous rate of PKR 359.65.
Saudi Riyal: The rupee strengthened by 2.66 paisa, closing at PKR 74.22, up from PKR 74.20.
UAE Dirham: The rupee rose by 3.02 paisa, closing at PKR 75.77, compared to PKR 75.75.
Japanese Yen: The rupee depreciated by 1.01 paisa, closing at PKR 1.7857, compared to PKR 1.7756.
Chinese Yuan: The rupee gained 1.27 paisa, ending at PKR 38.27, up from PKR 38.26.
