Interbank closing: PKR gains 7.41 paisa against USD


US dollar in Pakistani rupee

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee (PKR) experienced a slight depreciation of 7.41 paisa, or 0.03 per cent, against the US dollar in the interbank market on Monday, closing at PKR 277.71 per USD compared to the previous rate of PKR 277.64.

During the day, the currency’s highest bid reached 277.85, while the lowest ask was 277.75.

Exchange rates for today

In comparison to other foreign currencies, the rupee weakened against the Euro, falling by PKR 1.47 to close at 310.66, compared to 309.19 previously. The British Pound also became more expensive, rising by 87.67 paisa to reach 372.12, up from 371.25 the day before.

The Saudi Riyal closed slightly higher, gaining 1.19 paisa to settle at 74.03. The Swiss franc gained PKR 1.22, ending at 329.30 compared to the previous rate of 328.08. Meanwhile, the Chinese Yuan saw a marginal increase of 0.04 paisa, maintaining a rate of 39.59.

The UAE Dirham appreciated by 2.01 paisa, moving from 75.61 to 75.59, while the Japanese Yen rose against the PKR by 1.7 paisa, closing at 1.9499, up from 1.9329.
