Interbank closing: PKR gains 10 paisa against USD


One US dollar to Pakistani rupee

WEB DESK: In Wednesday’s interbank session, the Pakistani rupee (PKR) appreciated by 10 paisa against the US dollar (USD), closing at PKR 278.4 per USD compared to the previous session’s closing of PKR 278.5 per USD.

During the session, the currency experienced an intraday high bid of 278.65 and a low ask of 278.45.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the US dollar at 277.66 for buying and 280.27 for selling.

PKR’s performance against other currencies

Saudi Riyal (SAR): The Riyal closed at PKR 74.21, marking a decrease of 2.27 paisa from the previous day’s value of PKR 74.23.

Chinese Yuan (CNY): The Yuan saw a decline of 3.49 paisa, closing at PKR 38.31 compared to PKR 38.35 from the prior session.

British Pound (GBP): The Pound became cheaper by 1.48 rupees, ending the day at PKR 352.04, down from PKR 353.51.

Swiss Franc (CHF): The Franc experienced losses of 1.17 rupees, closing at PKR 310.63 compared to PKR 311.8 from the previous session.

UAE Dirham (AED): The Dirham decreased in value by 2.72 paisa, closing at PKR 75.82, down from PKR 75.79.

Japanese Yen (JPY): The rupee gained 1.04 paisa against the Yen, closing at PKR 1.7363 versus PKR 1.7467.

Euro (EUR): The rupee strengthened by 1.5 rupees against the Euro, closing at PKR 297.25 compared to the previous value of PKR 298.75.

The overall appreciation of the Pakistani rupee reflects a positive movement in the currency market, indicating a slight recovery against the US dollar and mixed performance against other major currencies.
