Intraday trading: Pakistani rupee gains 19 paisa against US dollar

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee (PKR) recorded a slight improvement against the US dollar (USD) on Tuesday, rising by 0.07 per cent in early trading hours in the inter-bank market. By mid-morning, the currency was valued at Rs277.45, showing an increase of Re0.19 against the USD.

Since the start of the current fiscal year, the rupee has appreciated by 69.89 paisa, equivalent to 0.25 per cent. Meanwhile, during the ongoing calendar year, it has strengthened by Rs4.22 or 1.52 per cent against the greenback.

On Monday, the PKR closed at Rs277.64, according to data from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

– The British Pound fell by Rs1.5, settling at Rs363.89 compared to Rs365.39 the previous day.
– Against the Euro, the rupee gained Rs1.47, closing at Rs304.48, down from Rs305.95.
– The Swiss Franc dropped by Rs1.87, closing at Rs323.69 versus Rs325.55 in the prior session.
– The UAE Dirham edged up by 3.18 paisa, moving from Rs75.59 to Rs75.55.
– PKR gained 2.23 paisa against the Japanese Yen, closing at Rs1.8727 compared to Rs1.895 a day earlier.
– The Saudi Riyal appreciated by 4.3 paisa, closing at Rs73.92, up from Rs73.88.
– The Chinese Yuan rose by 1.77 paisa, ending at Rs39.56 compared to Rs39.54 the previous day.
