Karachi police hike challan fee for drivers with ‘open letters’


The Karachi traffic police on Tuesday increased the fine for open-letter violations from Rs 500 to Rs 5,000.

A fine will be imposed on those who drive cars with open-letter violations.

DIG-Traffic Ahmed Nawaz Cheema has advised citizens to register vehicles in their names to avoid a substantial fine.

Ahmed Nawaz conveyed that a comprehensive public awareness campaign will be initiated two weeks prior to the enforcement of the revised fine.

Last month, Punjab police banned bike-riding without helmets across the province.
