WEB DESK: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority has taken decisive action by confiscating 4,000 kg of mislabeled and prohibited food items.

This proactive measure has resulted in the closure of 15 wholesale dealers and grocery stores in the region.

According to a spokesperson for the authority, targeted raids were carried out in Sitara and Kabul Market of Karkhano Bazar in Peshawar.

In a separate operation in Mardan, the Food Safety Team intercepted over 3,000 kg of non-standard molasses from a vehicle. Samples have been collected for laboratory examination, and further actions will be determined based on the results.

Meanwhile, the Nowshera team diligently inspected various outlets dealing with milk, ghee, salt, tea leaves, fish, frying oil, and spices.

Utilising a mobile food testing laboratory for on-the-spot examinations, additional seizures were made to uphold the standards of food safety in the region.

The food authority seems committed to ensuring the quality and legality of food products for the well-being of the public.
