Toyota Vitz still Pakistan’s favourite small Japanese car in 2025

Toyota Vitz price in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: For more than 15 years, the Toyota Vitz has been a favourite choice for many people in Pakistan. Also known as Pakistan’s favourite Japanese “choti gaari”, this small car has become a part of daily life for thousands of families and young drivers.

Even though it is not manufactured locally and is mostly imported from Japan, the Vitz has remained popular and is still one of the most in-demand Japanese cars in the country.

In recent years, the car market has seen many new 1000cc and 660cc options. While these newer cars have taken some attention away from the Vitz, its popularity has not gone away. Many people still prefer it, especially first-time car buyers and women, because of its size, easy handling, and good fuel average.

Also known as the Toyota Yaris hatchback in other countries, the Vitz is known in Pakistan as a smart and reliable small car. Its compact size makes it great for driving through busy city streets and parking in tight spots, especially in cities like Karachi and Lahore.

The 1000cc version is the most common in Pakistan. It gives excellent mileage while still being strong enough for both city and motorway driving. Although the Vitz also comes in 1300cc and 1500cc models, most people prefer the 1000cc because it saves fuel and is easy to maintain.

For women and new drivers, the Vitz is an ideal choice. It’s easy to steer, simple to handle, and not too big, which makes driving less stressful, especially in traffic.

When compared to local cars like the Suzuki Alto, Cultus or Wagon R, the Vitz gives better value for money. It also performs better than other Japanese 660cc cars like the Daihatsu Mira, Nissan Dayz, or Toyota Pixis, which often feel underpowered due to their smaller engines.

The Vitz gives a smoother and more comfortable ride, thanks to its slightly bigger engine and better build quality. It has long been a top pick for university students, young professionals, and parents looking for a safe and reliable car for their children. The Toyota name also adds to its value, as people in Pakistan trust the brand for long-lasting quality.

Toyota Vitz price in Pakistan

The price of a Toyota Vitz in Pakistan in 2025 depends on the model year, condition, version, grade, and features. A 2018 Vitz usually starts at around Rs3.8 million and can go up to Rs4.3 million, depending on how well it’s kept and what features it has.

For those who want a car that uses even less fuel and has more power, the Vitz Hybrid is a great option. The 1500cc hybrid model is strong and fuel-efficient at the same time. A 2017 Vitz Hybrid usually costs between Rs3.8 million and Rs4 million. A newer 2019 model may cost around Rs4.7 million, depending on its condition.

If you have a smaller budget, older models of the Vitz are still available at lower prices. A 2002 model can be bought for around Rs1.9 million, while a 2008 version may cost about Rs2.4 million. These cars may be older, but they still offer good value if they are well-maintained.

This means the Vitz suits many kinds of buyers, from those buying their first car to those looking for something simple and reliable for daily use.

In the last few years, Toyota has started selling the newer Vitz under a new name, the Toyota Yaris hatchback. From 2020 onwards, what many used to call the Vitz is now sold as a Yaris hatchback. Even though the name has changed, it still has the same engine size and similar body shape.

This new version offers better looks and slightly better fuel average. Most people and car dealers still treat the Yaris hatchback as the new Vitz. It continues the same trend, a small, fuel-saving, and easy-to-drive car.

A 2020 Yaris hatchback usually starts from Rs4.1 million, while a 2023 model in good shape may cost up to Rs4.8 million. If you want something nearly new, a 2024-registered Yaris with less than 11,000 km mileage and in top condition can cost as much as Rs5.6 million.

What makes the Vitz a smart choice even today is its simple but useful features. It’s small and easy to drive in traffic, gives great fuel average, and is very reliable. In a country where fuel prices keep changing and road conditions are tough, having a car that you can count on matters a lot.

Whether it’s a first car for a student, a daily car for office use, or a family’s second car, the Vitz has proven itself to be a dependable Japanese kei car. Even with new cars entering the market every year, Toyota Vitz continues to hold a strong place in the hearts of Pakistani drivers.
