Intraday trading: PKR rises 0.08 per cent against USD

KARACHI: On Monday morning, the Pakistani rupee (PKR) experienced a modest gain of 0.08 per cent against the US dollar (USD) during the initial trading hours in the inter-bank market.
Around 10:18 AM, the rupee was valued at 278.33, reflecting an increase of Re0.21 against the greenback.
In recent months, the PKR has fluctuated between 277 and 279 against the USD, as traders closely monitor positive economic indicators. Last week, the rupee had settled at 278.54 against the dollar.

For the current financial year, the PKR has depreciated by 20.11 paisa, or 0.07 per cent, against the USD. However, the rupee has appreciated by 3.32 rupees, or 1.19 per cent, so far this calendar year.
