FAISALABAD: In a recent crackdown, the district administration in Faisalabad has taken stringent measures against violations of the one-dish and marriage act, sealing four additional marriage halls and imposing substantial fines.

Assistant commissioners and other administrative officers spearheaded an extensive campaign targeting the breach of the one-dish marriage act throughout the district.

Their efforts involved the thorough inspection of numerous marriage halls and marquees, uncovering violations at 197 locations.

During this operation, 22 individuals were apprehended, and a cumulative fine of Rs15 million was imposed on the offenders.

Moreover, 64 marriage halls were sealed, and cases were registered against 52 accused, highlighting the government’s commitment to enforcing regulations.

Responding to queries, the official spokesperson disclosed that, within the last 12 hours, administrative officers scrutinised 96 marriage halls in the district, identifying violations at four sites.

Consequently, the premises of these four marriage halls were sealed, and a total fine of Rs400,000 was levied on the accused.

Cases have been registered for further legal action, reaffirming the administration’s dedication to upholding the integrity of the marriage act.
