ISLAMABAD: McDonald’s Pakistan has announced a significant contribution of PKR 10 million to aid Gaza victims through the renowned Edhi Foundation.

This act of philanthropy arises amidst a global dispute surrounding McDonald’s, triggered by its inadvertent provision of free meals to the Israeli occupation army.

In a statement released on its official platform, McDonald’s Pakistan has clarified its stance, asserting its status as a locally operated entity without any ties to McDonald’s Israel. The company has emphasized its dedication to addressing the urgent humanitarian crisis in Gaza and its commitment to providing aid to those affected by the prolonged conflict in the region.

The decision to donate PKR 10 million is a demonstration of solidarity with the victims of the Gaza conflict and underscores the local branch’s resolve to support those enduring the devastating consequences of the crisis.

Nevertheless, this gesture also brings attention to the broader controversy surrounding McDonald’s due to its association with providing complimentary meals to the Israeli occupation army. This issue has sparked global protests and boycott movements. Multiple McDonald’s branches across different countries have swiftly distanced themselves from the actions of the Israeli branch, affirming that the position taken by the Israeli branch does not reflect their own stances.
