Honda motorcycle sales surge

ISLAMABAD: Motorcycle and three-wheeler sales in Pakistan took a hit in November, dropping by 12.5 per cent compared to the previous month.

A total of 120,484 units were sold, down from October’s 137,693, according to the latest figures from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA).

However, if we look at the bigger picture, the year-on-year comparison tells a different story. Sales jumped by 36.15 per cent, with only 88,493 units sold in November last year.

For the first five months of the current fiscal year (5MFY25), sales in this category surged to 578,364 units, up 25.88 per cent from the 459,459 units sold in the same period last year.

When it comes to production, there was a bit of a mixed bag. November saw 121,666 motorcycles and three-wheelers roll off production lines, which is a solid 40.53 per cent increase compared to the same month last year.

But on a monthly basis, production actually dropped by 11.14 per cent, down from the 136,926 units produced in October.

Honda remains the undisputed leader in the market, selling a massive 100,588 units in November, securing a hefty 83.49 per cent market share.

That said, even the giant saw a slight dip, with sales down by 12.75 per cent from the previous month. Still, Honda’s numbers are up 32.28 per cent compared to last year November.

United Auto Motorcycle followed as the second best-seller, with 12,085 units sold. Meanwhile, Sazgar Three Wheeler sold 1,976 units, seeing a 17.7 per cent drop from the previous month but an impressive 155.63 per cent jump from the same time last year.
