Motorcycle sales in Pakistan surge by over 22 per cent in September

ISLAMABAD: Motorcycle and three-wheeler sales in Pakistan increased by 22.3 per cent in September 2024, reaching 130,960 units, up from 107,084 units in the same month last year.
According to data from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), on a month-on-month basis, sales saw an increase of 25.64 per cent, compared to 104,234 units sold in August 2024.
For the first quarter of the fiscal year 2025 (3MFY25), cumulative sales of motorcycles and three-wheelers reached 320,187 units, marking a 19.03 per cent rise from 268,990 units sold in the same period the previous year.
In terms of production, the total output of motorcycles and three-wheelers in Pakistan was recorded at 126,597 units in September 2024, an 18.57 per cent increase from 106,769 units produced in September 2023. Month-on-month production rose by 18.14 per cent, up from 107,154 units in August 2024.
Honda maintained its leading position in the market, selling 110,139 units in September 2024, which accounted for 84.1 per cent of the total market share. This represents a 21.72 per cent increase compared to August 2024 and a 15.87 per cent rise from September 2023.
United Auto Motorcycle and Sazgar Three Wheeler followed as the second and third largest sellers in the month, with sales of 13,302 and 2,168 units, respectively.
Suzuki also performed well, selling 2,049 units in September, a 7.5 per cent increase from the previous month and an impressive 86.95 per cent jump from September 2023.
