NEPRA notifies Rs2.75 per unit hike

ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) announced a uniform increase of Rs2.75 per unit in the electricity rate for all consumers nationwide, including Karachi, effective for the next three months from April to June.

“NEPRA hereby notifies complete decision of the authority in the matter of requests filed by XWDISCOs for periodic adjustment in Tariff for the 2’ Quarter of FY 2023-24 already intimated to the Ministry of Energy (Power Division) on March 28, 2024,” read the notification issued by NEPRA.

This upward revision is a component of the quarterly tariff adjustment mechanism, intended to mitigate the financial burdens faced by power companies.
