“We are pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the Art Competition for the new banknote series,” the SBP stated. “We appreciate the local artists and designers who participated, demonstrating their creativity and talent in this important endeavour.”
The shortlisted designs underwent a thorough evaluation by a committee of experts. The SBP mentioned that these designs are preliminary and are being shared with international designers for further development.
The international designers, working in collaboration with SBP officials, will refine the designs for the new banknote series. “While the international designers will draw inspiration from the local art submissions, they will have the freedom to apply their own expertise and creativity to finalise the designs,” the SBP added.
The central bank said that the new banknotes will reflect Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage and progressive vision. The SBP aims for the final designs to embody this collaborative effort.
“Winners of the competition will receive prize money as previously announced, in recognition of their valuable contribution to this national project,” the statement concluded.
