PM Shehbaz orders quick transfer of Pak-PWD projects to provinces

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed that a definitive plan for transferring ongoing projects from the Pakistan Public Works Department (Pak-PWD) to provincial authorities and relevant departments be submitted as soon as possible.
The Prime Minister issued these directives during a review meeting in Lahore today, which focused on the dissolution of the Pak-PWD.
according to the Information Ministry, he said that the financial compensation allocated to departing employees as a result of the department’s closure would not be extended to those with confirmed corruption charges.
Additionally, the Prime Minister has called for the final proposals concerning the Pak-PWD’s dissolution to be presented to the Cabinet for approval.
He also endorsed a proposal to relax age limits for re-employment, aiming to retain dedicated and honest employees with shorter tenures within Pak-PWD.
The meeting included a comprehensive briefing on the final stages and legal considerations surrounding the dissolution of Pak-PWD.
