PKR gains two paisa against USD in early trade


US dollar in Pakistani rupees

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee (PKR) during the third trading day of the week on Wednesday remained largely stable against the US dollar (USD), increasing 0.01 per cent during the early trading hours in the interbank market on Wednesday.

Around 11:00 am, the home unit was seen at Rs277.93 after a slight gain of 0.02 paisa against the American currency.

PKR weakened by 0.03 per cent, or 9.69 paisa, against the US dollar in Tuesday’s interbank session to settle the trade at Rs277.95 against USD as compared to the last closing of Rs277.86 on Monday.

Since the start of this year, Pakistani currency has strengthened 1.41 per cent, or Rs3.91. During the ongoing financial year, the rupee has rose against the dollar by 0.14 per cent, or 38.89 paisa in total.
