US remains Pakistan’s top export destination with 18.5 per cent growth

ISLAMABAD: In October, the United States continued to be the top export destination for Pakistan, with shipments valued at $575.89 million. This marked an 18.5 per cent increase compared to $485.79 million in the same month last year.

Following the US, China was second-largest export partner, although exports to the country fell by 20.2 per cent. Pakistan’s exports to China reached $254.39 million, down from $318.74 million in last year’s October.

The United Kingdom ranked third with exports of $198.63 million, reflecting a 15.9 per cent rise from the previous year’s $171.43 million.

UAE took fourth spot, with exports rising by 9.7 per cent to $153.78 million.

Other notable markets include Germany where exports grew by 23.5 per cent to $151.51 million and the Netherlands, which saw a 15 per cent increase, reaching $133.53 million. However, exports to Spain dipped by 17 per cent, bringing in $124.08 million.

On a month-on-month basis, exports to the US were up 12.6 per cent while those to China rose by 8 per cent. Exports to the UK also saw a slight increase of 1.1 per cent from September.

Looking at cumulative figures for first four months of FY25, the US was the leading source of export earnings, totalling $2.04 billion, up from $1.86 billion during the same period last year.

Meanwhile, exports to China amounted to $813.44 million, a decrease of 14.6 per cent. The UK ranked third, contributing $761.39 million, up from $690.58 million in FY24.
