ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has instructed relevant authorities to develop an action plan aimed at encouraging Chinese companies to establish industrial units in Pakistan.

This directive was issued during a meeting held in Islamabad on Friday.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasised the government’s commitment to providing all necessary facilities to Chinese industrialists and investors.

He underscored the importance of creating a comprehensive strategy for effective business-to-business meetings during his forthcoming visit to China, scheduled to begin on June 4.

The Prime Minister received a detailed briefing on the preparations for his China visit. It was revealed that a delegation comprising industrialists, investors, and entrepreneurs from Pakistan will accompany him to Shenzhen.

This delegation is expected to engage with the Chinese business community to discuss and enhance bilateral business relations.

PM Shehbaz Sharif has also directed the Pakistani Ambassador in China to ensure that all possible support is extended to the Pakistani business delegation during their stay.

In a related statement, the Foreign Office highlighted that the Prime Minister’s trip aims to bolster cooperation under the multi-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a pivotal element of Beijing’s Belt and Road Initiative.
