PRL announces 15 days shutdown

KARACHI: Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL), engaged in the production and sale of petroleum products, has announced a 15-day shutdown, leading to speculation that petrol supply may be affected.

PRL operates as a subsidiary of Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO) and plays a key role in meeting the country’s energy needs by supplying refined petroleum products to the local market.

In a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the company announced that refinery operations will remain suspended for 15 days from August 17 for scheduled maintenance.

Pakistan Refinery Limited, in a statement, clarified that the temporary shutdown will not affect the supply of petrol and diesel in the country.

The PRL will resume operations from September 1, 2025.
