Pakistan rice exporters meet Saudi chambers to boost trade

WEB DESK: A delegation from the Pakistan Rice Exporters Association recently held a meeting with the Waleed al-Arainan, the Secretary General of the Federation of Saudi Chambers.
The meeting is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen trade relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, two countries that have historically enjoyed a close economic partnership.

The discussion aimed to explore opportunities for Pakistan rice and other goods in the expansive Saudi market, which is known for its diverse consumer base and increasing demand for quality products.
Pakistan in one of the largest producers and exporters of rice globally, with basmati rice being particularly sought after for its unique aroma and flavour.
The country has established itself as a key player in the international rice market, exporting to countries in the Middle East.
Saudi Arabia has a growing population and expanding food industry. The conservative kingdom has been actively seeking to diversify its food sources to ensure food security, making it a perfect time for Pakistani exporters to expand their market share.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Saudi-Pakistan Business Council talked the potential of Saudi Arabia becoming a significant market for Pakistani products.
He pointed out the growing demand for rice, particularly in the context of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, which aims to diversify its economy and reduce dependence on oil.
The initiative has led to increased investment in various sectors, including agriculture and food production , creating opportunity for foreign suppliers.
The discussions focused on improving cooperation between the two countries, with a focus on quality of the Pakistani rice.

The delegation talked about the importance of establishing strong trade links to facilitate the export of rice and other commodities.
They also discussed the potential challenges in the supply chain and logistics, aiming to find solutions that would streamline the export process.
