PSX reverses early losses, rises by more than 600 points

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) opened in the red on the last trading day of the week, with the benchmark KSE-100 index down by 392 points from its previous close, recording 112,246.20 at around 9:36 AM.

The KSE-100 index closed Thursday’s trading session at 112,638.26.

On Friday, the highest level witnessed by the PSX before 12:00 PM was when it rose by 671.37 points to 113,309.63 at around 11:37 AM, with a trading volume of 98,394,023. However, the lowest point during this period remained at 112,246.20.

Among the KSE-100 companies, those trading in the red included AIRLINK, which fell by 3.89 per cent to 189, with a volume of 14,372,157; NRL, which dropped by 2.73 per cent to 263.89, with a volume of 543,525; NML, which decreased by 2.14 per cent to 100.00, with a volume of 235,273; ILP, which declined by 1.97 per cent to 65.19, with a volume of 442,168; and UNITY, which was down by 1.68 per cent to 32.16, with a volume of 266,389.

On the other hand, those trading in the green included MEHT, which rose by 8.51 per cent to 649.98; PGLC, which gained 8.31 per cent to 23.45; DKGC, which increased by 3.40 per cent to 98.47; PSEL, which was up by 3.30 per cent to 879.97; and PAEL, which went up by 3.25 per cent to 42.20.
