Pakistan’s Systems to acquire British American Tobacco SAA Services

Systems Limited acquire BAT arm

KARACHI: Pakistan’s largest listed software firm, Systems Limited (SYS), is in the process of acquiring British American Tobacco SAA Services (Pvt) Ltd from BAT International (UK), the company informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Wednesday.

The target company provides IT-led shared services across marketing, HR, finance, procurement and other functions, aligning well with SYS’s business process outsourcing (BPO) strategy.

Separately, Techvista Systems (UAE), an associated company of SYS, has signed a multi-year Master Services Agreement with Accenture (UK) to deliver AI-powered global shared services using the newly acquired platform.

This marks a significant step by SYS to expand its global footprint and strengthen its BPO and digital services business.

The KSE-100 Index surged by 800 points on Wednesday morning, driven primarily by Systems Limited, which alone contributed nearly 287 points to the index’s overall gains.
