January 16: Petrol prices in Pakistan expected to witness major dip

WEB DESK: The petrol prices in Pakistan are expected to experience a significant reduction from January 16, 2024. This expected drop is attributed to the decline in crude oil prices in the global market and the positive trend in the value of the rupee.

The petrol price in Pakistan is expected to decrease by Rs10 per litre in the next fortnightly review set to take place on January 15. If the petrol prices decrease in Pakistan, the new price of petrol per litre will be Rs257.34 from January 16, 2024 to January 31, 2024.
The last adjustment in petrol rates in Pakistan took place on December 15, 2023, setting it at Rs267.34 per litre. These prices remained unchanged in the fortnightly review conducted on January 1, 2024.
Details indicate that diesel price is expected to decrease by Rs2 per litre due to the influence of the global market. Additionally, the prices of kerosene oil and light diesel oil are also anticipated to undergo a reduction of approximately Rs2 per litre.

However, confirmation regarding petrol rates in Pakistan cannot be obtained until the fortnightly review on January 15, after which the government will officially announce the updated petrol prices in the country.
