petrol price today

ISLAMABAD: The government is expected to announce revised petrol and diesel prices for the remainder of March 2025.

A major reduction of up to Rs15.2 per litre in the prices of petroleum products is anticipated in this fortnightly review.

Oil marketing companies have also estimated that the government will reduce the price of petrol and diesel today.

According to recent estimates, the price of petrol in Pakistan is expected to decrease by up to Rs15.2 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel is likely to see a reduction of up to Rs9.3 per litre for the next two weeks of March.

For now, these are just estimates, and the final decision will be taken by the government after considering international oil prices today.

The new petrol and diesel prices will be announced after 9 PM tonight and will come into effect after 11:59 PM. These prices will remain in effect from March 16 to March 31 until the next fortnightly review.

If you happen to be unaware or have forgotten the current petrol prices, the ex-depot price of petrol in Pakistan is Rs255.63 per litre, while diesel stands at Rs258.64 per litre.

Should the expected reductions materialise, the new price of petrol could be Rs240.43 per litre, and diesel may drop to Rs249.34 per litre, starting March 16, 2025.

International oil prices recently slipped after surging due to a larger-than-expected draw in US gasoline stocks, as markets weighed macroeconomic concerns against demand and supply expectations.
