
Interbank closing: PKR drops by 15.73 paisa against USD

KARACHI: In Tuesday’s interbank trading session, the Pakistani rupee (PKR) fell by 15.73 paisa against the US dollar (USD), settling at PKR 278.66 per USD.
This is a decline from Monday’s closing rate of PKR 278.50 per USD. During the day, the rupee fluctuated between a high of PKR 278.85 and a low of PKR 278.65.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the US dollar at PKR 278.50 for buying and PKR 280.60 for selling.
Against other major currencies, the PKR exhibited mixed results.

The Swiss franc depreciated by 46.17 paisa, closing at PKR 314.32, down from PKR 314.78 the previous session. In contrast, the Chinese Yuan appreciated by 3.97 paisa, ending at PKR 38.42, up from PKR 38.38.
The British Pound saw an increase of 1.22 rupees, closing at PKR 358.17 compared to PKR 356.95 the previous day.
However, the PKR gained 34.5 paisa against the Euro, which ended at PKR 301.58, up from PKR 301.92.
Similarly, the PKR gained 1.18 paisa against the Japanese Yen, closing at PKR 1.7988 compared to PKR 1.8106 the day before.
The UAE Dirham appreciated by 4.28 paisa, reaching PKR 75.82 from PKR 75.87. The Saudi Riyal also increased, closing at PKR 74.28 with a gain of 3.99 paisa from the previous rate of PKR 74.24.
