ISLAMABAD: In a recent meeting of the Federal Cabinet, a comprehensive review of the country’s political and economic landscape was conducted. The session also saw the endorsement of decisions made by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC).
Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif addressed the Cabinet, highlighting some positive developments. He noted that inflation has decreased significantly, falling below 10 per cent, compared to 27 per cent during the same period last year.
He attributed this progress to the efforts of his team and said that while reducing expenses must be expedited, the overall burden of inflation is diminishing.
Here’s a screenshot of recent tweet shared on PM Shehbaz’s official X (formerly Twitter) account:
PM Shehbaz underlined the importance of curbing smuggling and expressed confidence that, although the journey is challenging, it is not impossible. He reassured that the government is committed to achieving its goals and that continued hard work will lead to success.
Regarding the International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme, the PM confirmed that measures are ongoing to meet the IMF’s conditions. He expressed optimism that all requirements will be fulfilled and aimed to make this IMF programme the last one for Pakistan.
