President Alvi approves formation of NEC

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has granted approval for the formation of the National Economic Council (NEC).

The NEC comprises a total of 13 members, with the prime minister serving as its chairman.

The NEC includes the prime minister and the chief ministers of all four provinces as its members. Representatives from the four provincial governments are also part of the NEC.

Federal ministers for finance, planning, economic affairs, and revenue will also be members of the council. The NEC also includes the federal minister for energy and petroleum as an overseeing member.
