PSX surges past 115,000 as KSE-100 gains 1,864 points

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) entered the last trading day of the month in green, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index rising by 797 points to reach 114,001.68 at approximately 9:20 AM. At that time, the volume stood at 2,658,764 shares.
This uptick followed Thursday’s session, where the PSX closed at 113,206 points, having witnessed an intraday high of over 1,800 points.
The market continued its upward momentum on Friday, with the KSE-100 Index climbing by 823 points to 114,030 at around 9:44 AM. By 10:59 AM, the index had further extended its gains, reaching 115,071.16 points, reflecting an increase of 1,864.76 points with a volume of 120,995,980 shares.
Over the past year, the stock market has recorded a significant increase of 85.37 per cent. However, on a year-to-date (YTD) basis, the KSE-100 Index has declined by 0.21 per cent. The 52-week range for the PSX stands between 59,191.86 and 118,735.10 points.
In terms of percentage gains among KSE-100 Index companies, the performers included:
National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) rose by 10 per cent, or Rs6.44, to Rs70.84, Pak-Gulf Leasing Company Limited (PGLC) increased by 9.61 per cent, or Rs1.87, to Rs21.34, Atlas Honda Limited (ATLH) gained 8.44 per cent, or Rs73.71, to Rs947, United Bank Limited (UBL) climbed by 5.31 per cent, or Rs20.78, to Rs412.44, and Lucky Cement Limited (LUCK) advanced by 5.15 per cent, or Rs57.30, to Rs1,171.02.
Meanwhile, companies trading in the red included:
Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited (PAKT) fell by 1.60 per cent, or Rs20, to Rs1,230, Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited (RMPL) dropped by 1.03 per cent, or Rs97.95, to Rs9,400.10, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGP) decreased by 0.58 per cent, or Rs0.55, to Rs93.71, Unity Foods Limited (UNITY) slipped by 0.67 per cent, or Rs0.21, to Rs31.30, and Bestway Cement Limited (BWCL) declined by 0.60 per cent, or Rs2.14, to Rs355.

The KSE-100 Index closed Thursday’s session at 113,206.40 points, showing an increase of 1,719.04 points or 1.54 per cent.
On the previous trading day, the index remained positive throughout the session, with an intraday high of 113,400.56 points (+1,913.20) and a low of 111,805.66 points (+318.30). The total volume for the KSE-100 Index was 172.24 million shares.
