PSX extends rally as KSE-100 breaches 113,000 mark

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) began Thursday’s trading session on a positive note, with the benchmark KSE-100 index rising by 499.59 points to reach 112,753.35 at 9:24 AM.
At that time, the trading volume stood at 10.37 million shares. Despite fluctuations, the index maintained its upward momentum throughout the morning, avoiding a slip into negative territory.
By 10:23 AM, the index had gained 549.5 points, reaching 112,803.26 with a trading volume of 70.7 million shares. The upward trend continued, and by 10:43 AM, the KSE-100 index rose further by 749.49 points to 113,003.25.
During this period, the top advancing stocks included SLYT, KSTM, INKL, JKSM, and LSEFSL. Conversely, the top decliners were TCORPCPS, ALAC, SKRS, ASHT, BELA, and SNAI.
In terms of broader performance, the PSX has risen by 71.91 per cent over the past year. However, on a year-to-date (YTD) basis, the market is down by 1.96 per cent. The KSE-100 index has traded within a 52-week range of 63,856.51 to 118,735.10.
At around 1:07 PM, the stock market extended its gains further, rising by 1,568 points to reach 113,822.4, with the trading volume recorded at 198,603,980 shares.
Ending Thursday’s session on a high note, the PSX gained 1,459.41 points, finishing the day at 113,713.17 points.

On Wednesday, the KSE-100 index closed at 112,253.76, down by 490.03 points, or 0.43 per cent.
During the session, the stock market fluctuated within a range of 1,181.03 points, reaching an intraday high of 113,327.12 (+583.33) and a low of 112,146.09 (-597.70). The total trading volume for the index was 152.19 million shares.
Key contributors to the index’s decline included EFERT (-71.01 points), FFC (-55.32 points), PSO (-54.61 points), MARI (-37.29 points), and PPL (-35.68 points).
On the other hand, companies that supported the index’s upward movement were ENGROH (+98.16 points), TGL (+17.91 points), LUCK (+15.88 points), PIBTL (+12.04 points), and NESTLE (+11.01 points).
