PSX crosses 117k mark as KSE-100 gains over 760 points

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) opened on a positive note on the second trading day of the week, with the benchmark KSE-100 index rising by 571.94 points to 116,961.97 at around 9:32 AM. At that time, the trading volume stood at 1,603,181 shares.
The lowest level observed around that point in the session was 116,645.68 — still 255.65 points higher than Monday’s closing of 116,390.03.
Looking at broader performance indicators, the KSE-100 index has gained 65.63 per cent over the past year. On a year-to-date basis, the index is up by 1.49 per cent. Over the last 52 weeks, it has traded between a low of 69,783.32 and a high of 120,796.67.
Among individual stocks within the KSE-100 index:
Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited (UPFL) rose by 1.26 per cent, gaining Rs290 to reach Rs23,400.
Sazgar Engineering Works Limited (SAZEW) increased by 2.40 per cent or Rs28.42 to trade at Rs1,215.
Ibrahim Fibres Limited (IBFL) jumped 5.35 per cent or Rs19 to Rs374.
Nestle Pakistan Limited (NESTLE) declined by 0.67 per cent or Rs48.32 to Rs7,125.01.
Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited (RMPL) dipped by 0.52 per cent or Rs47.33 to Rs9,001.
By around 11:01 AM, the index extended its gains, rising by 768.85 points to 117,158.88, with the volume reaching 68,342,506 shares.
