PSX posts moderate gains towards the end of trading week

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued its positive momentum from second-half of trading day yesterday and posted minor gains on Friday morning.

Opening at 46,202 points, the index posted a quick gain to 46,418 points. However, part of these gains eroded when the benchmark KSE-100 index touched the lowest of the day at 46,181 points. By midday, the trading movement has recovered to 46,284 points.

PSX witnesses surge of 312 points

During the past four days, the stock market has seen mixed results with minor gains exceeding minor losses. The second halves of the trading days saw the KSE-100 in recovery for the most days of the current week.

Yesterday (Thursday) PSX witnessed a remarkable uptick on gaining 107 points in the latter half of the day.

On Friday, the index showed positive movements but the trading volume remained quite low with only a little over 34 million shares trading hands in the market.
