OGRA increases RLNG prices for March

WEB DESK: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced an increase in Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) prices for March 2024.

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) will experience a rise of up to 2.75 per cent, while Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) will see an increase of 0.8 per cent, according to the notification issued on Wednesday.

The latest pricing details reveal that SNGPL’s new rates for transmission and distribution in March are $11.86 per MMBtu and $12.81 per MMBtu, respectively.

This marks an increase of $0.317 per MMBtu for transmission and $0.322 per MMBtu for distribution compared to February 2024 prices.

Similarly, SSGC’s updated prices for distribution and transmission purposes are $11.215 per MMBtu and $13.056 per MMBtu, respectively.

This represents an overall increase of approximately $0.088 per MMBtu for transmission and $0.0979 per MMBtu for distribution compared to February 2024.

The decision to adjust prices aligns with the federal government’s policy guidelines aimed at ensuring energy affordability and sustainability.
