Rupee depreciates Rs3.01 against US dollar

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee weakened by Rs3.01 against the US dollar and closed at Rs291.51 in the interbank market on Tuesday, the State Bank of Pakistan said.
Overall, the Pakistani currency depreciated by -1.04 per cent against the US dollar after the market opened following three days of holidays.
The Pakistani rupee had closed at Rs288.49 against the US dollar on August 11.
In the open market, where the currency is traded more freely, the rupee traded as Rs300.

Previously, over the last three months, the currency had maintained a steady trajectory and remained at around Rs288 against the US dollar.
