LAHORE: Sazgar Engineering Works Limited reported strong growth in vehicle sales in June 2025, with the company recording its second-highest monthly sales of four-wheelers since launching the segment nearly three years ago.
According to a filing to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday, the company sold 1,349 four-wheelers in June, a 47 per cent increase from May and more than double the number sold in the same month last year. A brokerage house described the figure as the second-best monthly performance for the company to date.
The company produced 985 four-wheelers during the month, indicating demand outpaced supply.
Sazgar’s total four-wheeler sales for the fiscal year 2024–25 reached 10,844 units, up from 5,244 units the previous year, a 107 per cent annual increase.
The three-wheeler segment also saw strong momentum, with 2,435 units sold in June compared to production of 1,420 units, according to the filing.
Sazgar has been ramping up four-wheeler production since rolling out its first locally-assembled unit in August 2022 under a joint venture with China’s Great Wall Motor (GWM). The lineup includes around six models, including a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) under the Haval brand.
The company is also preparing to expand into the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) market in the latter half of FY2025–26. It recently announced a 155 per cent increase in capital expenditure for its NEV facility to support this expansion.
Auto sector analysts say vehicle sales are gradually recovering on the back of economic stabilisation and falling interest rates, which are expected to revive demand and support growth in auto financing.
Sazgar had earlier predicted in April 2025 that the sector would rebound amid improving macroeconomic conditions.
