SBP announces two-day closure

WEB DESK: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that it will be closed on July 16 and 17, 2024, in observance of Ashura, which falls on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.

According to a notice issued by the central bank on Wednesday, these dates are public holidays.

“Ashura, which occurs annually on the 10th of Muharram, is a significant day of commemoration in Islam,” the notice stated.

The closure will affect all SBP operations on these two days, as the nation observes the religious significance of Ashura.
