Stock market slips 350 points after yesterday’s hike
This significant increase comes after yesterday’s price of Rs 377 per kilogramme, marking a substantial impact on consumers.
In the wholesale market, live broiler chicken is now priced at Rs 281 per kilogramme, while in retail, it has reached Rs 292 per kilogramme.
Despite this hike in chicken prices, the cost of farm eggs has remained stable at Rs 237 per dozen.
The sudden rise in poultry prices is expected to strain household budgets and affect local businesses that rely on poultry products.

The reasons behind the increase are yet to be clarified by market analysts. However, one expected impetus to this could be that Eidul Azha is just around the corner and that traditionally causes the demand for poultry to shoot up in comparison to other forms of meat.
