Smuggled mobiles valued at over Rs50 million seized in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: In a significant anti-smuggling operation, the Customs Department of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) intercepted a shipment of 5,500 smuggled mobile phones valued at over Rs50 million in the federal capital, Islamabad.
Customs officials revealed that the operation took place in Golra Mor following a tip-off, leading to the successful seizure of the illicit mobile phones.
Two individuals have been apprehended in connection with the smuggling, and an FIR has been filed against them.
The accused are currently in five-day physical remand under the jurisdiction of a special judge, as further investigations into the matter are actively underway.
