Stock market continues on the path to recovery

KARACHI: Yesterday (Tuesday), the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) made a strong recovery after steep decline in two consecutive trading sessions. The benchmark KSE-100 Index surged by 447.91 points, concluding Tuesday’s trading at 78,987.09 points, marking today’s (Wednesday) opening.
The index had posted 173.80 points gain on Wednesday within an hour of trading, hovering around 79,160.89 points by 10 AM.
Stock market opens week with bloodbath; hopes for recovery on Tuesday
On Monday, the index lost 1,578.71 points. Yesterday, however, the index demonstrated a positive trajectory, marking the day’s highest at 79,585.34 points and the lowest at 78,634.15 points.
In the broader market, the All-Share Index ended at 50,135.58, up by 268.24 points, or 0.54 per cent. The total market volume was 316.25 million shares, down from the previous session’s 375.60 million. The traded value decreased to Rs17.07 billion, reflecting a reduction of Rs2.28 billion.
