Stock Market continues to fluctuate, upwards today

KARACHI: Friday morning brought some gains for the benchmark KSE-100 index. The market opened at 62,393.73 points and had gained 300 points until 11 AM to hover around 62,710.83 points.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has not been performing too well since the beginning of the current week, with Tuesday brining a substantial decline in the benchmark index by over 900 points. Much of this decline can be attributed to the political upheaval in the country.

However, on Wednesday (yesterday), the benchmark KSE-100 index seemed to develop some resistance against political developments and gained more than it lost during the day. Thursday turned the tide once again and caused losses, but gained back those losses towards the day end.

The final trading day of the week began on a positive note despite mixed results from the energy sector.
