Stock market crosses 61,000 points again

KARACHI: Friday morning saw the benchmark KSE-100 index top over the 61,000 points once again. The share market was hovering around 61,073.84 points.

This is 542.57 points above Thursday’s closing at 60,531.27 points.

Earlier in the week, the share market shot past the 61,000 points on Wednesday. However, by the day end the index had settled at 60,502 points.

Thursday saw the stock market showing fluctuations earlier in the day before stabilising towards the day-end.

Over 133 million shares had traded hands on the first half of final trading day of the week. Companies from myriad sectors spearheaded the growth of the index, showing an overall improvement in investor confidence in the market.
