Stock market drops down after hitting six-year high

KARACHI: On Wednesday, the KSE-100 index gained over 400 points, reaching a level of 52,350 points, the highest in six years. This increase in the index reflected growing confidence among investors. The last time it crossed the 52,000 mark was in 2017.
Pakistan Stock Exchange hits 6-year high, surpasses 52,000 points
Thursday’s trading session began on a similar note, when the index reached 52,681.22 points, after opening at 52,342.63 points within an hour after opening. However, soon after that, the index dropped significantly to 52,270.54 points, 72 points below the opening level.
Trading volume has remained lukewarm as well with 70 million shares trading hands, after several days of improvement and high trading volumes.
