Stock market opens after Friday’s slight downturn

WEB DESK: The Pakistan Stock Exchange’s KSE-100 index opened on Friday’s closing at 67,005.11 points.
Friday saw the index on a record high, however, by closing time, the index had declined slightly by 137.02 points. For the past several weeks, the index is showing fluctuations, but remained robust for the better part.
Sector-wise, the Technology & Communication, Power Generation & Distribution, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies, Fertiliser, and Cement sectors have been more on the declining trend, with the Chemical, Textile Composite, Tobacco, Commercial Banks, and Paper & Board sectors providing support.
In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 44,562.88, recording a net gain of 92.56 points on Friday. Total market volume stood at 313.035 million shares, with a traded value of Rs 9.90 billion, indicating a decrease from the previous session.
It’s worth noting that the KSE-100 index has seen substantial gains over the fiscal year, rising by 25,552 points, or 61.64 per cent, while the ongoing calendar year has witnessed an increase of 4,554 points.
