PSX climbs nearly 1,200 points in spectacular rally

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued its upward trajectory on Wednesday, soaring by 970.20 points, or 1.22 per cent, to close at 80,461.34 points, up from 79,491.14 points on the previous trading day.
On Thursday, the index further added to the rally, climbing nearly 1,200 points to hover around 81,660.29 points by 10:30 AM. The hike was not shared by the entire market, with companies like TRG and WTL still trading in red.
Pakistan’s petroleum import bill surges 8 per cent YoY
Yesterday’s hike also came despite decline in the number of traded shares. Trading activity showed a total of 400,195,963 shares exchanged hands, a decrease from the 536,187,271 shares traded the day before.
