Tajir Dost Scheme: FBR reports over 7,000 registrations nationwide


ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) announced on Friday that 17,384 traders enrolled in the Tajir Dost Scheme.

The FBR spokesperson revealed that 5,173 traders from Karachi, 4,871 from Lahore, and 1,406 from Islamabad registered under the scheme. Similarly, 1,944 traders from Rawalpindi, 1,409 from Peshawar, and 899 from Quetta had also completed their registrations.

The Tajir Dost Scheme was introduced by the FBR to “facilitate” traders and enhance tax compliance within the business community. The scheme offers various benefits to registered traders, encouraging them to participate in the formal economy.

The FBR spokesperson stated that it was important to promote economic documentation and foster a business-friendly environment. By encouraging traders to register, the FBR aims to strengthen tax compliance and boost revenue generation for the government.

The registration process under the Tajir Dost Scheme is part of the FBR’s ongoing efforts to streamline tax procedures and promote transparency in business transactions.

The spokesperson also stated that revenue board continue to encourage more traders to participate in the scheme.
