Intraday trade: PKR gains four paisa against US dollar

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee (PKR) remained largely unchanged against the US dollar (USD) once again during the early trading hours in the interbank market on Thursday.

In the morning, the local currency was recorded around Rs277.85, showing a gain of four paisa or 0.01 per cent against the American currency.

Previous closing and yearly performance

The local currency dropped by 5.44 paisa or 0.02 per cent against the USD in Wednesday’s interbank session to settle the day at Rs277.89 per USD as compared to previous closing of Rs277.84

This fiscal year, PKR has appreciated against the dollar about 44.89 paisa or 0.16 per cent. On the other hand, PKR has surged Rs3.97 or 1.43 per cent since the start of 2024.
